Lockdowns suck, especially for people who do and enjoy live performance.
Well, now that’s over (for now), we figured we may as well start a theater company here in St. Paul. That company is called Bad Mouth, I suppose because we intend to do and say risky things, talk shit when we feel like it and generally not be lame duck broccoli theatre for the well behaved and spiritually flatlined.
We partnered with the historic Waldmann Brewery in St. Paul for space to start our first reading series: Live & Unlocked. Given I’m a playwright, we figured we may as well begin with my latest play MODERATION, as the first of five plays in this free reading series from March - July of 2022.
The thing went swimmingly. We are also releasing digital content with each of these readings, both a Zoom recording of the play (audio theatre) and additional content by way of an interview. This will be released as our company podcast: Mouthing Off. So whether you’re in Minnesota or not, Bad Mouth will have something for you to pick up and get into your brain.
Follow the company on Twitter @badmouthtc and join us for a reading in St. Paul if you’re in the area. You’ll find the schedule here.
The reading of MODERATION took place at Buffalo Room at Waldmann Brewery, St. Paul MN and featured the talent of Amanda Forstrom, Ian Hathway and Mari Sitner.
