Have you seen the chart?
It's a helluva start
One day I hope to post here more frequently. As it is now, I’m busy with quite a few projects not least of which is ART OF DARKNESS, a podcast about the dark side of (dead) artists and creatives, with the great Brad Kelly.
Yesterday Mr. Kelly noticed a weird spike in traffic. We have recently had something of a “breakout” in terms of numbers, most notably 11k+ streams on Spotify and 1k+ listens per week, in addition to a spike in Patreon Subscribers. Brad initially ascribed the noted spike to a glitch. At first I thought eh maybe a bot was crawling the site, but that would be unusual. I don’t think bots typically land on sites and trigger mp3 files to play.
Now my other other career is in digital around web development, copywriting and blockchain, so I decided to investigate. I found a service called Chartable, which is a podcast analytics aggregator that focuses on the Apple Podcasts and other charts.
Turns out Art of Darkness just recently charted on Apple in the Arts / Books category.
We also peaked in the 60s in Hungary, same category, and are charting in the top 200 in the Netherlands as well.
We are as they say “chuffed” and intend to double down on making this show better and better. If you haven’t, check it out and consider the Patreon for bonus content. We are also vaguely plotting an Art of Darkness Live experience in Minnesota for 2023. Stay tuned.
